Martial Arts Vaz-Karate

Drum roll........ The champions of the 2014 Martial Arts Competition is Vaz Preparatory School. The team was also placed second in the Team Kata. The Competition was held on November 29, 2014 at the UTEC Auditorium. Well done team and Instructors Shihan Keith and Sensei Peter.

Jaheel Hyde, Youth Olympic 110m hurdles champ

Jaheel Hyde 2Jaheel Hyde opened another chapter in his already impressive career by claiming the Youth Olympic 110 metre hurdles title in Nanjing, China, in record fashion.

The Wolmerian significantly improved the world record of 13.12, as he sped to 12. 96 seconds to claim gold.

Hyde has won gold medals at the World Junior and World Youth championships in the 110 and 400 metre hurdles respectively, but he says this achievement sits atop the pile.

Martin Manley also added the Olympic title to his World Youth crown after posting 46.31 seconds to win the 400 metres on Friday night.

Janelle Fullerton captured the "B" final of the women's discuss with a throw of 43.36 metres.
